Garland GIR36 Description

Designed to be mounted on the back of a 36-inch commercial range, the Garland GIR36 gas salamander broiler increases cooking capabilities without reducing space. Like a cheese melter, this unit can toast bread and heat plates, but it provides more power. It can also caramelize meats and brown other dishes. In the broiler, two infrared burners provide even heating and are controlled with high/low valves. For additional flexibility, the plate rack can be moved into three different positions.

This Garland GIR36 salamander broiler is powered by LP gas, so it is most convenient for use with a range that uses the same fuel type. It mounts on the back of the range, above the open burners and below the ventilation hood. Adding this type of unit to a range increases versatility without minimizing work space in crowded kitchens. A heat shield is integrated into the bottom to reduce the amount of heat that transfers to the range, and the stainless steel construction provides strength and supports quick cleanup.
